Shoshanah Blaiss

Breastfeeding Specialist, IBCLC

Shoshanah first felt called to birth and postpartum work after her daughter was born in 2011. This birth experience was long & lonely, ultimately ending in a cesarean. Her second birth, a hospital VBAC (vaginal birth after cesarean), was completely different. It changed her. She walked away from that pregnancy, birth, and postpartum feeling empowered, listened to, and loved because of the care she received from her nurse-midwife. It was then that she felt the passion for birth and postpartum work rise within her!

“I am a midwife, assisting at someone else's birth. My aim is to do good without show or fuss, to facilitate what is happening rather than what I think ought to be happening. And when I lead, I lead so that the mother is helped, yet still free and in charge.” — J. Heider
