Noah Lucas

NoahLucas
The entire pregnancy I prayed to God that I would get a good night sleep before I went into labor (as for my first labor, with Savannah I was up allll night and very tired). Well my prayers were answered!! I woke up at about 6:00 AM on January 10, with very mild contraction coming and going every 15-20 minutes...I could deal with that, I didn’t wake my husband yet although he heard my every move. At about 7:00 AM they started to get somewhat stronger and my husband asked if he should stay home from the office today...

I said yes, It’s going to happen today! I am not sure how far apart they were at this time I just remember calling Claudia at around 8 AM to let her know what was going on, she asked how far apart they were I said I really don’t know they just hurt.........she said to time them over the next 30 minutes and call her back, well 15 minutes later I called her back and said they about 2 1/2 minutes apart lasting about 30 sec. she said she would send Debbie and Ruth over since they were on their way to the office for prenatals, and it was my second pregnancy so things could be pretty fast...and they would keep her updated.

I just waled around the house at this point then finally laying in the bed since the contractions were getting more intense. I think Debbie and Ruth arrived around 9:00 AM. Debbie checked me and I was 5cm dilated she asked if I wanted to get into the tub...I did for a awhile which helped some...I got out to pee and lost the mucous plug...I didn’t feel like being wet anymore so I got back into bed and labored there being massaged by my husband through each contraction...at about 11:00 AM I started to feel pressure like I wanted to push. Debbie checked me and I was 9 1/2 cm dilated...so at this point I started to push, I just remember screaming it’s burning, I can’t do this anymore, they reassured me that I could. I only pushed for 30 minutes or so then Noah Lucas was born into the arms of his Daddy at 11:41 AM. It all went sooo fast that I am sure I am missing details.

I failed to mention that at some point during my labor Debbie had come over to me and said remember what we talked about a few days ago, well its happening now (we had talked about 2 women going into labor at the same time and Claudia/Debbie missing a birth) Claudia had to drive 2 hrs to another woman in labor so she never made it here!

Debbie and Ruth and of course my husband were wonderful, sooo calm and relaxed through all my screaming!

Our big baby boy weighed 8 lbs 14 oz and was 20 1/2” long.
